First, a local anesthetic is applied, which may cause slight discomfort. However, once the scalp is numbed, the procedure itself is not painful.
What should I do immediately after a hair transplant?
After a hair transplant, it is important to practice good aftercare to achieve the full benefits of the procedure. Dr. Demetri will provide a kit after the treatment to help keep the grafted area moist. Keeping the implanted grafts moist will increase the chance of the hair follicles becoming fully embedded into the skin.
Do not wash your hair for the first 7 days, and avoid touching the newly grafted area.

Because there are no surgical cuts or sutures involved, the most people can expect is some mild swelling and discomfort. The majority of our patients are able to resume their regular activities within 48 hours. Small scabs do form around the hair grafts which tend to fall off between 1-2 weeks after the procedure.

No! With our customized FUE transplantation technique, your results will look natural. We ensure that the direction of follicular hair growth in the transplanted area is the natural direction of your hair. Unlike older surgeries that left patients with linear scars in the back of the head, the FUE procedure we perform does not leave a scar. You can wear your hair any way you want!

If hair thinning is experienced through aging, the transplanted area will not return to the previous hair-loss pattern.
